Even my fingers from gripping the bar.

I started Friday before last. My workout yesterday was A 500m Row, then: 5 rounds of 10 Deadlifts @115, 10 Kettlebell Swings 1 Pood, 10 GHD situps, then a 500m Row. I did it in 21:23.

Not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow. Maybe some Cleans and Pushups?

Eh.kalonkakonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08556322854907829366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957533439547038824.post-40159709794894945372010-02-25T19:29:00.000-08:002010-02-25T19:32:04.475-08:00My hubby persuaded me to wait on the P90X and do the Insanity set with him now. So okay, whatever. So far so good. I find it interesting that its only been a week and yet I see a return of my shoulder and leg definition.

Hooray. I'm tired.kalonkakonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08556322854907829366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957533439547038824.post-72696259743411788122010-02-01T12:57:00.000-08:002010-02-01T13:02:24.274-08:00So....I've taken it easy. The workout last Monday was too much for my body. :(
TMI and such but I have bled alot and bright red since then. I suppose all the jumping and bouncing has jarred my uterus. And here though, is my dilema:

I am having a hard time dragging myself from my house to make it to the gym. The gym I prefer doesn't have a daycare, the gym that has a daycare won't take her until she's two months old. Sigh...

So, I'm just going to break out the P90X DVDs and start those, its better than doing nothing.kalonkakonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08556322854907829366noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957533439547038824.post-42633320479596027532010-01-25T17:47:00.000-08:002010-01-25T17:48:45.898-08:00My head hurtsF*n burbees....

A scaled WOD:

3 rounds

15 push presses
10 burpess
25 box jumps

And I'm ready for bed now.kalonkakonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08556322854907829366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957533439547038824.post-68889727503785365792010-01-22T10:32:00.001-08:002010-01-22T10:38:48.958-08:00OMG So soreSo my Wednesday workout prompted the long forgotten "Crossfit Sore" where the crease of my ass hurts. For realz. Its been awhile (obviously) since I've done such deep squats. What a great feeling!

I didn't go to the gym yesterday, I took Veronika for a walk instead because it was such a beautiful day out. She could've cared less, she slept the whole time. Then in the evening Darrell took over baby duty and sent me to bed at 7:30. It was fabulous! I think I got more sleep last night than I have all week.

Today I'm supposed to go for a walk with the neighbor and then go to a Hail and Farewell tonight, so its technically a rest day. Since all I did was walk yesterday I'm going to make Saturday a gym day and do the run/squat/pushup wod. (WOD = Workout of the Day)

Sunday I'm going to try to wake up early and go for a bike ride. We have a commander's reception at 2:3o we have to go to.

You know, I thought that by having a child I would be able to get out of going to Hail and Farewells and Receptions. But hell no, they say children are invited. WTF? Thats bullshit man. BOOOOO.kalonkakonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08556322854907829366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957533439547038824.post-57259043194620353282010-01-21T07:35:00.001-08:002010-01-21T07:38:42.897-08:00Well...It seems my workout "plan" for yesterday was very ambitious for my postpartum body. Heh.

I did:

Set 1: 10 Thursters, 10 Pushups
Set 2: 8 Thursters, 10 Pushups
Set 3: 8 Front Squats, 8 Pushups
Set 4: 8 Front Squats, 8 Pushups
Set 5: 10 Thursters, and I can't remember if I did pushups, prolly not...

7 minutes on the treadmill (tried to run but my legs were fried from the workout above)
10 minutes on StairMill

Attempted the Sauna but it was closed :(

I'm sleepy.kalonkakonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08556322854907829366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957533439547038824.post-53813768389170395902010-01-20T11:23:00.000-08:002010-01-20T11:34:51.200-08:00I'm going PaleoThis week I am cutting out sugars. Its neat.

Today I ran on the treadmill at the gym. Well, Run/Walk. But the good news is, the first mile was strictly running at a decent pace. The following 1.75 miles was an interval. I was stoked.

Yay.kalonkakonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08556322854907829366noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957533439547038824.post-32763173617952509022010-01-10T23:44:00.000-08:002010-01-10T23:45:06.435-08:00HoorayThe baby is out! We did our ride today and ended up going 19 miles instead of 15. The majority of it felt good despite being in the heat. At mile 9 (after two big hills, one I had to walk up) we stopped and got to see a calf castrated and branded. That was cool. Then I stood up. That wasn't cool. I was so sick to my stomach and dizzy. It took my lame ass 30 minutes maybe? to go 3 miles. I had to keep getting off the bike and letting my body get oriented again. At mile 12 we stopped at the Shopette and got some new water and an energy bar for me. We sat there for maybe 30 minutes too. Then I got my second wind, got back on the bike and managed to swiftly move for the remaining 7 miles.

I wonder how much of the drama was just my paranoia that I did something to the baby? I feel fine now, great actually. I came home, laid on the floor and felt the baby move around (I think she's pissed because there is a flurry of activity in there) which made me feel better. I didn't want to kill her or brain damage her or something hypochondriac stupid like that.

Now Darrell is making brunch and then we are going to go to the pool. It is well deserved for the both of us.kalonkakonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08556322854907829366noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957533439547038824.post-37221735737642889482009-07-24T21:21:00.000-07:002009-07-24T21:32:05.742-07:00Tomorrow's Bike RideSo...Darrell has his new bike. To celebrate we are going to go on a bike ride tomorrow morning. I plan to do only 15 miles and I know that isn't much to those of you who do 20 miles after work, but guess what? I'm pregnant and getting slow. Blahhahahahaha

And I eat alot.

I'll post later about how it went. Should be smooth because I got a tune up on my bike that I never got after the first month of riding. And Darrell should be speedier than he was on the hybrid so that'll make the ride more pleasurable. Then I plan to come home and make breakfast and nap. Wooooo.

On the baby front:
-I have my big ultrasound Tuesday at 8AM. If I can figure it out I will post a cute picture, because babies are just damned cute.
-I discovered baby registries which is like shopping without spending money. Oh but I walk out of the store empty handed. The satisfaction, however, of tagging barcodes with a handy dandy machine replaces the need to buy things.
-I have started to buy things like diapers, wipes, onesies, and miscellaneous stuff. I bought a baby bath tub today, a two packs of Luvs, and an extra pack of wipes, and 6 onesies.
-Debating the best baby bottle. WTF? I used to debate the best beer.
-I want a beer.kalonkakonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08556322854907829366noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957533439547038824.post-66470243867529799622009-07-02T21:09:00.000-07:002009-07-02T21:15:31.120-07:00UghSo I just saw a picture online of a woman I grew up with. Ugh. Really?
I feel less of a fit woman. It in a weird jealousy woman kind of way has motivated me. I refuse to be a slovenly pregnant woman who in turn remains slovenly once she gives birth. Ugh.

Went on a bike ride recently where I smoked Darrell on his hybrid. He promptly returned the hybrid to Dick's for a full refund and put a Trek 1200 60 cm fit just for him on lay away. We have only $266 left to pay on it and then it is all his.

My bike needs a tune up. I never took it in for its month check up so I've gotta get around to that. Might possibly go for a ride early in the morning just for the hell of it. Darrell hurt his back playing football this morning and is laid up in bed so it'll be me all alone.

I wanted to go to the gym tonight but I was just so tired. And I need to eat better. I've been eating like shit because I felt like I deserved it. I've noticed that Cletus the Fetus' only source of veggies is limited to V8's. I'm a bad mother. Baaaaad.kalonkakonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08556322854907829366noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957533439547038824.post-53433510823867369652009-06-21T07:49:00.000-07:002009-06-21T07:50:30.622-07:00Now that the worst is over...My ass is back in the gym. I missed exercising. I'm impregnated.

I got the peddles of my bike changed for the meantime, rather than falling over as I often do...

And I'm bloated all the time.

Got a new Suunto sport watch.

Got internet!!!!

And a bad ass monitor.kalonkakonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08556322854907829366noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957533439547038824.post-19666998070361879942009-03-31T18:51:00.001-07:002009-03-31T18:58:31.498-07:00Moving ShenanigansI hate moving. Even if people are hired to do it for me. I find the whole process tiring. Sigh...

I ran yesterday briefly at the fairgrounds. I wanted to bicycle there this evening but I just now got to settle down. My legs ache and I can't think of any reason why they should other than I cleaned my apartment today???????? WTF.

Tomorrow I am going to drive to Ft. Benning to spend a few days with Darrell while he finished up Airborne school. I'm taking the bike and a few sets of exercise clothes with me. I find the contents of my suitcase funny: one pair of jeans, one shirt to go with jeans, one pair of slacks, one shirt to go with slacks, one pair of heels, one pair of boots, 5 sweat wicking shirts, three pairs of sweat wicking shorts, one pair of bicycle shorts, 2 pairs of running shoes, one pair of bike shoes. If I could function in the real world on a day to day basis wearing exercise clothes I would.kalonkakonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08556322854907829366noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957533439547038824.post-47330080861614728062009-03-25T17:37:00.000-07:002009-03-25T17:40:49.630-07:00I accomplished the once unaccomplishableI ran an outdoor 5k in 28:06.

I didn't believe it, I took my car and measured it.

Tres awesome.

On the plate for tomorrow is a bike ride before work and then PF Changs after work to undo all the good I've done. I did want the scallops but I think I may go inexpensive and healthy and order the Buddah's Feast which is fancy shmancy for veggie-tables. If that is the plan then I must cut out the Hot and Sour Soup too.kalonkakonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08556322854907829366noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957533439547038824.post-25291710675674984662009-03-23T18:13:00.000-07:002009-03-23T18:17:29.394-07:00If tight pants are for suckers then pulled back muscles are for morons.... Why yes, I pulled a muscle in my back and it sucks balls. I slip a little here and there. Nothing too big or unmanageable. I still feel full and satisfied. I need to exercise more. I was at the gym Monday morning at 5:00 AM (back, 20 min cardio), skipped Tuesday, 5:00 AM this morning (legs and 40 mins cardio). Tomorrow I will do remedial PT with Darrell (he beats them up and I kinda like the feeling of pushing myself so hard I'm going to vomit). I like going because its like those cardio bootcamps. Although not large by any stretch of the imagination, I need something that'll keep me honest. I usually like blogging but I want to do it on my own, without friends or a contest. So this is all me. It will serve as both my fitness and diet journal. I may even occasionally post progress pictures.

For my diet, I am beginning to follow Tosca Reno's Eat Clean Diet. It isn't a diet but a guide to eating right. So far it is going well, nothing is restricted except sugar and sweets and gratuitous fats.

I'll start from today on blogging it all down.

8:00 AM: 1 serving of Optiumum Power Cereal with Soymilk. 1 Cup Coffee

9:00 AM: 1 cup Green Tea (no sugar, milk or honey)

11:00AM: Egg whites with spinach, Salt and pepper. Microwaved, so no additional butter or grease. 1 (small, smaller than my palm) loggers roll (with crusted oat top) with spinach and turkey. 1/2 cup of Peppermint Chocolate Soymilk heated for dessert (it tastes like a mint mocha!).

At work the women have stated that Monday is the Diet Start Date, so today the office is full of brownies, cookies, muffins, etc. I have yet to touch them. I would consider it a great success if I could go the whole day and not eat any sweets (other than my peppermint milk which did have sugars).

I have always tried to eat small multiple meals a day but I didn't know exactly what to eat. I would end up very hungry and eventually binge. Since I've started this plan, I stay fuller longer and when I go to bed at night I don't feel deprived. My meals have gotten healthier and more adventurous. It gets old to eat chicken breast and cottage cheese five times a day so I'm willing to try new things. Tofu is fun to cook with. I made an awesome tofu chili the other day and mixed this wonderful brown rice with it.

Tonight I have to work out. That is the one area that has slipped recently. I just am pressed for time and when I go into the gym and its packed, I shorten my workout. January is a horrible time to decide to get in shape, I don't know why people do it. I love going to the gym, I get cranky if I miss a day or two. Every January I always lose my motivation. I don't want to stand in line to wait for a machine. February-December, I have no problem. But January! Forget it. I understand why I've gained weight this month.

That rambled. Will post again after gym tonight.kalonkakonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08556322854907829366noreply@blogger.com0
